This page explains what information Barcode & QR Code (“we”, “the site”) handles. We've kept it plain, and we'll update it whenever something changes.

Barcode data stays in your browser

The barcode generator runs entirely in your browser. The text or numbers you enter, and the barcodes you create, are processed on your device and are not uploaded to our server. We do not store them.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may record standard server logs such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time of requests. This information is used to deliver, secure and troubleshoot the site.

Cookies and similar technologies

At the date above, the site does not set cookies of its own. See our Cookie Policy for details.

Analytics

We may introduce a privacy-conscious analytics service, such as Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used and to improve it. If we do, this policy will be updated before it is switched on, and where the law requires it we will ask for your consent first.

Advertising

The site is free to use and we may display advertising in the future, for example through Google AdSense. Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies to show and measure ads, and may personalise ads based on your activity. If advertising is introduced, we will update this policy, describe the providers and your choices, and offer consent controls where required.

Camera and the QR code scanner

The QR code scanner asks your browser for permission to use your camera, and only after you press Start camera. The camera feed, and any image you choose to scan, are processed in your browser and are not uploaded or stored. You can stop the camera at any time, and you can decline and scan from an image instead.

QR code generator data

Like the barcode generator, the QR code generator works in your browser. What you type, including Wi-Fi passwords and contact details, is used only to draw the code on your device and is not uploaded to our server.

Contact forms and email

We do not currently provide a contact form. If you email us, we will use your message and address only to reply to you.

Third-party services

The site loads its own files from our hosting provider. We do not currently load third-party scripts, fonts or trackers. Any such services added in future will be listed here.

Children

The site is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children under 13.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over personal data we hold, such as access or deletion. Because we hold very little, requests are likely to concern server logs held by our host. Use the contact page to ask.

Changes to this policy

We will post changes on this page and update the date at the top.
