Logo or icon in the centre
A centre image hides part of the code, so error correction is set to High automatically. Keep logos simple and test the result with your phone. Your logo is used in your browser only and is never uploaded. Social media logos are trademarks of their owners: use them to point to your own profiles and follow each brand's guidelines.
Sticker or frame
Size and error correction
Quiet zone is the blank border around the code, measured in squares. Keep it at 4 or more. Higher error correction survives more damage but makes a denser code.
Your QR code will appear here.
Everything you enter is processed in your browser and is not uploaded to our server.

How an email QR code works
The code holds an ordinary mailto: link. After a scan, the phone opens its email app with a new message addressed to you, subject and text included. All the sender has to do is press send.
Good uses
- Feedback and support requests on packaging or posters
- Event enquiries and RSVPs
- Fault reports on equipment, with a ready-made subject like “Fault report: Machine 4”
Would a chat suit you better? Try a WhatsApp QR code. To share a whole contact card, use the vCard QR code. Every type is also on the QR code generator page.
How to create a Email QR code
- Fill in the details above (recipient, and optionally a subject and message).
- Check the preview and read any message under the fields. It explains how to fix anything that isn't valid.
- Open “Size, colours and error correction” if you want a different colour, size or error-correction level.
- Select Download PNG, Download SVG or Print. Files are named
qr-code-email.pngandqr-code-email.svg.
Before printing in volume, scan the code with two different phones. QR Code is a registered trademark of DENSO WAVE INCORPORATED.
Email QR Code questions
Will it work if the phone has no email app set up?
The phone needs an email app set up to write the message. Without one, the scan may do nothing or ask which app to use.
Is my email address visible in the code?
Yes. The address sits in the code, so anyone who scans it can see it. Use one you're happy to make public.
Can I leave the subject and message blank?
Yes. Only the email address is needed.
